The AP, Fox News, CNN and every other outlet I can find are reporting that Kerry has called Bush to concede the race. Good for Kerry. After months of waging a destructive, divisive and deceitful campaign, after 20 years of being on the wrong side of history in the Senate, after trashing brave men at the “Winter Soldier” Hearings and giving aid and comfort to our enemies, Kerry finally did something positive for his country.

And not just because he won’t be President (although that’s arguably the best thing he could ever do for the country). No, he deserves credit for acting manfully and not allowing the United States to be dragged into a quagmire of recounts and lawsuits. Not that he would have prevailed in the end, but just by not behaving spitefully and pushing this to the limit, he deserves the thanks of all Americans.
